Christmas Advent Calendars
(Primark: https://goo.gl/images/MvwLGw)
* Please note that I haven’t brought these calendars. These are just ideas on what you could buy instead of the usual chocolate advent calendar! x
Christmas advent calendars you may think is an odd post to post about on everything Christmas related. However there are a few unique and quirky advent calendars out there for you to chose from that you may not have known about until I decided to mention about them. Now I decided to start off this blog with advent calendars as it then gives you the choice to look around and maybe treat yourself or a friend/family member to something a little bit different. As there are only 78/77 days (depending on when this post goes live) until the 1st of December. So here are my quirky suggestions for advent calendars this year (some may just be your usual standard advent calendar). Anyway enough intro and into the good stuff!!
I'll start off by saying about your usual chocolate advent calendar. These are probably the cheapest advent calendar you can buy and they range in prices depending on which ones you go for. As of yet i'm unsure what chocolate calendars will be available to purchase in 2018 however going by last years here are a few chocolate advent calendars you could have chosen:
1) Cadbury
2) Lindt
3) Reese's (Possibly my favourite type of chocolate)
4) Kinder suprise
5) Celebrations
6) Milky Bar
7) Dairy Free chocolate advent calendars
8) Luxury Chocolate Advent Calendars

Now I could go on and on with the chocolate advent calendars yet we know that were more interested in and looking forward to the more unique and quirky advent calendars that I have found whilst doing my research. Well following the theme of eating something from your advent calendar you could decide and chose to have an sweetie advent calendar. You could decide to have an:
1) Haribo advent calendar
2) Swizzles sweet advent calendar
3) Jelly bean advent calendar
So I have searched and have only found these three advent calendars that are sweets! This could obviously change as we draw closer to the beginning of December however these are only what I can currently find!
Now onto maybe the best invention yet in Christmas advent calendars that generally make me wonder why these weren't around when I was a kid and if they were....why didn't I have one?! These are for you mums...it's the toy advent calendar. Now these range in prices and you really need to research these or if you have a little look on YouTube you might be able to find someone who already has opened a Christmas calendar like that one and you can then have a better idea as to whether or not they are really worth it. Ok I'm excited for this list...you ready? Here we go...
1) Playdough - Yes there's an actually playdough advent calendar which at the moment i believe it is on sale for £13.99. Inside you receive 5 playdoughs and i believe the rest of the days are cutters. Worth it?! Hmmm i'm not sure however i love playdough and if you have a child who can't have dairy this is a great alternative (Non-dairy calendars are often rather pricey and i'd rather pay a bit more to get something to keep out of it).
2) Peppa Pig advent calendar - £24.99 on smyths website. Now i'm not a huge fan of peppa pig however this one shocked me as i never knew this even existed until I began looking up the advent calendars. There are 24 doors and behind each door is a peppa pig toy.
3) Playmobil santa's workshop - £19.99 on John Lewis website. There are 24 doors and behind each door is a character that you receive you create the scene of santa's workshop.
4) VTech Toot Toot Friends Advent Calendar - £24.99 on the Very website. Now i'm not going to lie I have no idea what the VTech Toot Toot craze is about however the description given online states that there are 24 doors to open and behind each door you get an accessory.
5) Lego City Advent Calendar - £19.97 on the John Lewis website. Now this advent calendar has 24 doors and behind each door is a different lego item for you to enjoy such as a figure or form of transport. This is fantastic for someone who really enjoys lego. I know Lego and maybe some other brands (Playmobil) do different styles of advent calendar as I think that Lego have done a starwars advent calendar too.
6) Hot Wheels advent calendar - £15.39 on Ebay website. This calendar has 24 doors.
7) Paw Patrol Eraser advent calendar - £9.99 on the studio website
8) Hatchimals advent calendar - £25 on the Debenhams website. As i'm writting this on their website it currently says that there are only 10 or less left of these advent calendars on their website. Now this suprises me as were only in September! Either there are many, many other people out there who are a huge fan of christmas like myself or they didn't really make a lot of stock....hmmmm I'll let you be the decide the answer of that question.
There are a few others that you could chose from and there's one idea that I haven't mentioned here yet... there are more ideas to follow...I know right?!

Next is the beauty advent calendars!! These are amazing and some you can get at a great value for money. I must admit though that this idea has come from a lovely YouTuber called ELTORIA. You can watch her vlogs of her opening different advent calendars and see if any are what you'd like to buy or if any are a good gift idea for family and friends. As some maybe £45 but inside the products are worth £90. However if are my list of what I think you'll enjoy in beauty products:
1) The Body Shop - £45, £65, £99 from the bodyshop website (these will possibly be in store too and at a push will be available with the body shop at home). These are great value for money as each calendar is a huge saving. The £45 calendar is only 24 days but the other two calendars are 25 days and include such great full sized products inside! Definitely worth the money in my own opinion. This would be a great gift idea for a treat for yourself or for a special family member.
2) Soap and Glory - £40. This includes some great soap and glory items!
3) Marks & Spencer - £35.
4) Lush - £49.95. Which includes 12 days of great lush products!
Make-Up
1) Revolution - £50. This includes a wide range of different products such as lipstick, eye shadow etc.
2) No7 - £42. This includes mascara, lipstick, make-up brush and different serums.
3) Benefit make-up - £34.50 but inside the products are worth £76!! Inside you get 12 products. (This was based on last years calendar however I do know that they will be doing another calendar this year!)
4) Superdrug make-up advent calendar - £26. For 24 days worth of make-up!
The last lot of advent calendars you could get are the quirky ones that i'll spilt between buying and creating your own! These ones are the ones that you could be assured that only a handful of people will probably have. Here is the final list of advent calendars below:
Buy
1) Prosecco advent calendar - £144.95 on the not on the high street website. This includes a few different types of prosecco behind 24 doors. Even though this is very pricey if your a lover of prosecco this could be for you.
2) Wine advent calendar - Price TBC on the Aldi website. It is coming out again this year if you take a look on their website it say's it'll be available on the 4th of November. I believe last year the price was £49. The calendar includes 24 small bottles of wine. There are beer advent calendars too that you could get.
3) Yankee advent calendar - £16.99 on the amazon website. An ideal gift if you love the yankee candles.
4) Disney Advent calendar - £14.99 Primark. Yes Primark have created their own Disney advent calendar. It is just 25 days of Christmas baubles. They are completely and utterly stunning!
Create Your Own
1) Book advent calendar. With this one you could go onto the works website and get 10 books for £10 so you'd need to buy £30 worth of books. However with this in mind the 5 books that you have left over you could give out as Christmas presents. So over all this calendar would cost £25. So with this idea you would wrap up the different books and label them with numbers so you know which one to open! These could be a wide range of Christmas and normal books to also colouring in books too.
2) Wine advent calendar - You could create your own by buying your own small wine bottles and wrapping them up and placing numbers on them so you could open them on the different days. This may however be more expensive then the Aldi one.
3) You could also always create your own by getting an empty advent calendar like this one (insert picture). You could then either place in chocolate or jewellery which may in theory work out cheaper then one of the other advent calendars.
4) Not on the high street have suggested that you could create your own personalised advent calendar for £20. Basically you have a picture of you and your family behind each door. This could be very good at Christmas and a nice sentimental gift.
Overall I hope you enjoy the choice i've given you on advent calendars. I'm actually really suprised as to how many there actually are out there for you to buy! Whether you end up getting a chocolate advent calendar or a £99 bodyshop calendar I hope you all enjoy your Christmas Advent Calendars!
